This is our Christmas on a recession....

Every year we talk about making Christmas more about the meaning than the gifts. This year we will actually have to do that. Like so many, we are quite a bit tighter financially than we have been in the past. Don't get me wrong, we are truly blessed. We have a home, hubby has a job, we are healthy, loving, and loved. Financially, we are meeting our needs. Over all, life is good.

Still, Christmas will be a challenge. We have spoken to family and friends, letting them know that, in some cases, we will not be exchanging gifts this year, and in others, we will be sending handmade gifts. That is my department.

Whenever possible, on Tuesday mornings, you will find me meeting with a lovely group of women. All of whom, are talented in their craft of choice. There are knitters, crocheters, quilters, painters, mixed media artists, you name it, and we have someone who does it. One of the great things about this group is that everyone is willing (sometimes anxious) to share their knowledge.

All of the pictures in this post are items created by our fearless leader, Lael. This past Tuesday, She showed me how to make the very pretty, needle-felted, pink flower brooch, so that I can recreate them as Christmas gifts. Thank you Lael for sharing your knowledge, passion, and inspiration with me.

Tell 'em Lisa sent you :-)
