What is it about Disney that never gets old? We are just at the end of another Disney vacation and this one was as much fun as all the others. Our plan, this year, was to do things that we do not usually get to do on our frequent day trips. Once given some thought, we agreed that what we do not do is take our time. When we come down for the day, we get up early, rush here, rush to and from favorite rides and attractions, then rush home to let Jack out. So this trip, we took it easy.
Off Kilter |
We drove down on Sunday afternoon, settled in to the hotel, enjoyed the pool, ate a light dinner and went to Hollywood Studios to see the American Idol round up show (enjoyed by all). Monday we got up late, played in the pool and moseyed on over to Magic Kingdom, came back to the hotel for dinner, and back to MK for the fireworks. Tuesday we got an earlier start and spent the day at Epcot, where we saw, among other things, "Off Kilter", a Canadian Celtic Rock band (sounds odd but they were very good). Wednesday was another sleep in, followed by a trip to a local yarn shop (more on that later) and eight hours at Disney Quest (not restful but loads of fun). Today, we got up early and hit Animal Kingdom just as they opened. We managed to do Everest and Kali River Rapids (where I got soaked) before noon, came back to the hotel for lunch and now Hubby and the boys are at Hollywood Studios meeting up some friends from NJ. The plan for tomorrow is to sleep in, grab breakfast, hit the pool, and wander north (home) when the mood strikes.
Thanks to friend, Nancy, we have not had to worry about Jack at all. It has been a wonderful, relaxing week.
Tonight is free hot dog night at our hotel so that is where I am going right now. I will report on the LYS later (It was lovely. I have pictures).
